Southern Utah

Now that I am looking back at it, 2020 was a year packed with travel for me! In October of 2020 I went to Utah for the first time. My friend and I flew into Vegas and drove two hours into St. George, then stayed at a yurt in Leeds.

The fun thing about this trip is I have a friend (update: now boyfriend) who lives in St. George so we were able to do the touristy things as well as experience a different/local side of St. George!

The first picture was taken from Bryce Canyon. We drove into the park and parked at a place called Inspiration Point. From there we walked about 2 minutes from the parking lot to see this incredible view! After that we walked down into the canyon and we’re up close and personal with all the rock formations.

The second picture is taken from from Zion National Park. We also figured out that it is pronounced like lion. Unfortunately the Angels Landing viewpoint was closed due to repair, but we found this wonderful overlook. The hike was not very strenuous, but I will be coming back for Angels Landing which is a harder hike.

The third picture is from a place called Snow Canyon which is right in St. George. We saw this gorgeous view the first night and the last night we went to the bottom and saw the thousands of stars. I am not exaggerating when I tell you I saw AT LEAST 20 shooting stars. I wish our cameras could capture what my eyes were seeing because you might have cried (I cried).

The last picture is our little yurt in Leeds. It had a bed, a little side table, and a chair. The bathrooms and showers were in the log building behind our yurt in the picture. We were also provided with AC/heating, silverware, grill, cooler, AND WiFi! I definitely recommend glamping because you get the best of both worlds of camping and a nice warm bed.

All in all, this has been one of my favorite trips. It was absolutely mind-blowing to see all of God's creation. And to think how beautiful all this is, but WE are made in the image of him which is perfect.
