Summer of 2020 my family took a trip to Colorado. We have been multiple times before, summer and winter, but this trip was the best. We stayed in Durango and decided to head into Silverton one day to ride ATVs. Here is my experience:

My family and I took an ATV up through the mountains to see these incredible views. Towards the top of the mountain, the road was so narrow you had to have either a Jeep or some sort of ATV to make the sharp turns.

Silverton is known for its old mines. We got to go inside some old houses from over a hundred years ago. It’s crazy how people in the 1800s just found a spot right in between all these mountains and made a little mining community.

I highly recommend either renting an ATV or going camping at the base of these mountains. There are so many places to hike and little hidden waterfalls to see. I was only there for half a day but I could have stayed there for a week!
